Started With A Generous Donation

With a Heartfelt Donation
John and Ruanne Opie Scholarship
In 2000, John and Ruanne Opie reached out to then Superintendent Dan Sternhagen about supporting the students of Jeffers High School upon graduation. At this time, Dan Sternhagen had just successfully completed a campaign to get new padded and branded chairs for the basketball program. Dan thought, what if we take this very generous donation from John and Ruanne, and invest it to stretch each dollar of the initial investment to further supporting the Adams Township School District. So Dan setup the ATSD Foundation.

The more the Foundation can support the students and teachers in the short term, the more the Foundation can give in the long term. Supporting classroom upgrades or donating classroom supplies means the money sitting in the investment accounts can continue to grow! This will allow the Foundation to award more scholarship money and support bigger projects.
